Kel-Tec RFB, Target

Kel-Tec RFB, Target-Length Barrel, 7.62X51

weapon (ranged)

This weapon is the same as the Kel-Tec RFB Carbine, except that the barrel is 32" as opposed to 18." The length of the barrel necessitates a different use in combat as compared to the carbine. It’s more of a “designated marksmen” rifle than a close-quarters combat weapon. The bull-pup design makes its value plain when considering overall size. The target model with a 32" barrel is 4 inches shorter than the FN FAL with a 26" barrel. This means that so long as a suppressor adds no more than 4 inches of length, when considering overall length, the RFB is suppressed for free!

This is Ritter’s go-to gun when he knows he will be a spotter or assistant gunner, and his choice rifle for end-of-the-world scenario.

The accuracy rating above assumes the use of military ordnance.

As with the RFB carbine, the GURPS basis of comparison was the FN-FAL. Given that comparison, the target model has a barrel 9" longer than the FAL. This means that the bullet will exit the barrel a bit faster, and therefore have flatter trajectory, and greater maximum effective range.

Rate of Fire: In actual use, it does not make sense to use a weapon like this one in burst-fire mode, except under certain rare circumstances. This weapon could remain purely semi-automatic, and it would not adversely effect its utility for its intended purpose.
